God Calls Abraham

Genesis 12:1–9

For children

God told Abram to leave his home and go to a land God would show him. God promised to make him a great nation and bless the whole world through his family. Abram didn't know where he was going, but he trusted God and went.

For grown-ups

The Abrahamic covenant is the backbone of the Bible's story: land, offspring and blessing to all the families of the earth. Paul calls this promise 'the gospel preached beforehand' (Gal 3:8), fulfilled in Christ, Abraham's true Seed.
