Baby Moses in the Basket

Exodus 2:1–10

For children

Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, wanted to hurt all the Hebrew baby boys. One mother hid her baby in a basket by the river. Pharaoh's daughter found him, loved him, and named him Moses. God kept Moses safe because He had a big plan for him.

For grown-ups

The word for Moses' basket is the word for Noah's ark. A deliverer is preserved through the water while a tyrant kills infants — the same pattern repeats when Herod tries to kill the infant Jesus.
