The Fiery Furnace

Daniel 3:1–30

For children

King Nebuchadnezzar made a giant gold statue and told everyone to bow down. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would only worship God. The king threw them into a blazing furnace — but they didn't burn! The king saw a fourth man in the fire with them. God saved them!

For grown-ups

'Our God is able to deliver us… but if not, we will not serve your gods.' Faith that obeys whatever the outcome. The fourth figure in the fire shows God present with His people in their trials (Isa 43:2).
