Daniel in the Lions' Den
For children
Daniel prayed to God three times every day. Some jealous men tricked the king into making a law that no one could pray except to the king. Daniel kept praying anyway, so he was thrown into a den of hungry lions. God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths, and Daniel was safe!
For grown-ups
Daniel's faithfulness is ordinary and steady — the same prayers at the same window. The innocent man is sealed in a pit with a stone and brought out alive in the morning; the story foreshadows the empty tomb.
