Rebuilding the Walls

Nehemiah 4:1–23

Jerusalem's walls were broken down. Nehemiah prayed and then led the people to rebuild. Enemies made fun of them and threatened them, so they worked with a tool in one hand and a sword in the other. With God's help they finished in just 52 days!

For grown-ups

Prayer and work, watching and building: Nehemiah models godly leadership under opposition. The rebuilt city waits for the true King to come to it (Zech 9:9).
