The Ten Plagues and the Passover
For children
Pharaoh would not let God's people go, so God sent ten plagues. Before the last one, God told each family to put the blood of a lamb on their door. That night, the LORD passed over every house with the blood, and His people were safe. At last Pharaoh let them go!
For grown-ups
The plagues are judgments on the gods of Egypt (Exod 12:12). Israel is spared not because they are better than the Egyptians but because of the blood of a substitute. 'Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed' (1 Cor 5:7).
