Count the Stars

Genesis 15:1–6

For children

Abram was old and had no children. God took him outside at night and said, "Look up and count the stars, if you can. That's how many children your family will have!" Abram believed God, and God counted him as righteous.

For grown-ups

Genesis 15:6 is the verse Paul builds on in Romans 4: Abraham was justified by faith before he was circumcised and long before the law. God then binds Himself by walking alone between the pieces — He takes the covenant curse on Himself.
